la poesie

arretez madame!
now is not the time for you to speak, non.
i am composing un poeme,
i do not wish to be disturbed,
pas pour café, pas pour la compagnie.
i am an artist at work, a fleuve of ideas,
a burbling and meandering trail of happiness
and merde.
the téléphone, you say?
someone is mort, you say.
pas de problème, you say.
leave me alone.
la poésie is subjective, et la vie ne s'arrête pas
pour la vie,
but fuck la vie, vivre c'est pas important aujourd'hui.
mon copain robert (je suis homme and i'm gay)
knows well enough not to disturb me to-day.
mais madame la strophe, ma seule amante femme,
is my obsession.
i have heatstroke on this summer porch
but peu import, i am a poet now.
je n'ai pas d'argent pour acheter d'eau,
mais j'ai de la bière, and a dog by my side.
la vie peut attendre.
while birds pick at garbage, i am creating.
every reflection in shop-windows,
for the birds, every feather held aloft,
c'est la vie.
et c'est pour moi la poèsie.

apologies to everyone for my terrible french, inspiration knows no bounds apparently.  feel free to correct it if i've a mistake.
